How Long Until Verizon Shuts Off Phone 2019

I myself am perfectly happy with my Loyalty smartphone plan and iPhone half dozen, and so I hope they don't screw around with it.

These plans are slowly becoming less of a good deal though as data allotments grow on the Verizon Program. Unless you have unlimited information, you're probably better off on Verizon Prepaid or The Verizon Plan.

Actually hoping to meet VoLTE on Verizon Prepaid soon.

I cannot believe 2G 1xRTT has been such a popular topic of give-and-take here at HoFo.

Enjoy the twilight years. I'll be trying to continue my IS-95 StarTAC performance on the network into the sunset. We'll see how long that lasts considering we are entering the e911 endgame. The final remaining devices are actually going to hurt the compliance numbers.

On a similar note, Sprint is really defenseless with their pants down. Do they fifty-fifty accept a 1xRTT succession plan? Everything vocalization is still 1xRTT over at that place and they just established an ESMR 800MHz 1xRTT network.

It nevertheless remains the near reliable for voice until Verizon can match their LTE coverage and VoLTE reliability to their 1x network. I'd imagine they'd exist able to do this before the terminate of 2019, so I don't remember it's much of an event.

I also wonder what will happen with Sprint, since a large office of their coverage is 1x roaming on Verizon.

    A) You're assuming Sprint will notwithstanding exist then. B) they should likewise exist making plans for this transition. They're Sprint so they probably are not.

Dart's voice coverage depends on Verizon's 1x and a HUGE portion of Dart's data coverage is Verizon 3G. If Verizon always shuts off that 3G, lots of Sprint customers will accept some Large new coverage holes.

Verizon is already converting almost of their 3G spectrum to LTE.

No worries here, Dart roams on U.Southward. Cellular for service in Mendocino Canton, and in Lake Canton, where they have one, lonely site, in Lakeport on Clear Lake. I'm non sure where else they have that arrangement, but USCC and Sprint also have a nationwide LTE roaming agreement now too, and so in improver to USCC EVDO here, Dart gets LTE also.

As well bad US Cellular doesn't even have coverage in over one-half of the Usa, then it's not really a fair trade off.

Except they haven't added any new coverage areas in years. Verizon has been adding towers throughout NH, yet U.s. Cellular which was once the king is now lacking in many parts of the state.

They maintain the coverage lead hither in rural Northwestern California, though Verizon and AT&T are pretty close, and T-Mobile is coming on strong now too. They cover their Oregon and Washington areas well too, NorCal, Oregon and Washington make up their Northwest Market, which, until the early 2000'due south, too used to include Southeastern Idaho and Hawaii, just SE ID went to Alltel (Verizon at present owns the A and B side in that location), and Hawaii to AT&T.

US Prison cell is minuscule compared to what Verizon offers. Sprint needs to be concerned nearly Verizon.

Well, yep, merely, similar always, it depends on where you lot live, work and travel. If I lived in some areas in our county, and rarely traveled outside of it, I'd be with USCC.

They permit 3G roaming on Verizon? Concluding I checked, it was 1x roaming only.

Verizon volition well-nigh likely shut off 1x and 3G at the same fourth dimension. It wouldn't make sense to shut down 1x and keep 3G running, since vocalisation calls can't be made over EVDO.
